A Smarter Super Bowl ~ Giveaway {CLOSED}

As I mentioned in a previous Friday Favorites post, I have become a Salba Smart chia ambassador! Which is awesome for both of us because that means every month I will have a new giveaway for you featuring Salba Smart's products! I had the opportunity to review their products in the past and I instantly fell in love!

Salba chia seeds are bursting with nutrition, as you can see in this infographic:

Salba chia seeds are superior to generic chia seeds for multiple reasons. They are higher in omega 3's and protein, have nutritional consistency, and are grown using strict growing conditions. You can read more about the comparison here!

As many of you know, this weekend is the Super Bowl, which usually includes lots of food, friends and alcohol. You can "healthify" your your game day treats using Salba Smart's chia seeds. Salba Smart came up with some delicious recipes that you should definitely try:

  • Chia-mole – a classic guacamole enhanced with Salba Chia seeds:
    • 2 ripe avocados, halved, pitted, and peeled
    • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
    • 1/2 medium red onion, finely chopped (1/2 cup)
    • 2 plum tomatoes, seeded and finely chopped (1/3 cup)
    • 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
    • 1/8 teaspoon coarse salt
    • Freshly ground pepper, to taste
    • 2 tablespoons of Salba Chia Whole Seeds
    • Serve with Salba Chia Organic Tortilla Chips or fresh cut veggies
  • Strawberry Salba-ritas – Yes, you read it right! Why not make a margarita a little healthier?!?
    • 2 oz water
    • 1 tsp Salba Chia Seeds (let chia seeds soak for about 10 min. in the water)
    • 3 oz tequila
    • 1 oz triple sec
    • 1½  oz freshly-squeezed lime juice
    • 6-7 whole, frozen strawberries (blended)
    • 1 Tbsp palm sugar (also called coconut sugar) & 1 Tbsp cane sugar
    • Ice
  • Light Buffalo Chicken Dip – Just the right amount of naughty & nice.
    • 4 oz reduced fat cream cheese, softened
    • 1 cup fat free sour cream
    • 1/2 cup Franks hot sauce (or whatever hot sauce you like)
    • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
    • 1 tsp white wine vinegar
    • 2 Tbsp Salba Chia Whole Seeds
    • 2 cups (14 oz  raw) cooked shredded chicken
I created game day avocado salsa. Yum!
{two tomatoes, 1/2 onion, 1tbsp or 1 clove garlic, 1 lime juice, 2tbsp Salba chia whole seeds, 1 avocado, and a sprinkle of Real Salt & pepper}
This avo-salsa is really, really good. I hope it's a hit on game day! I will be serving them with Salba chia tortilla chips.

Salba Smart has chia tortilla chips (yellow & blue corn) and chia salsa which are absolutely delicious and are sure to please a hungry crowd!

I love how Salba chia is white, it makes it easy to sneak them into dishes without being noticed! 

There are endless possibilities when using Salba Chia. You can add them to any of your favorite game day snacks to make them a bit healthier!

I would definitely make that lightened up chicken dip, but I would also make mini-pancake bites with chia seeds or chia seed dipping jam, and mini pudding-layered cups! -Kenzie Degen

I would use the chia seeds to make a nice pudding for dessert or try to make some healthy dips with them.
